MTECH Communications is a Multinational Technology Company that specializes in Digital Solutions with operations in Nigeria, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia, Democratic Republic of Congo, South Africa, Rwanda, Swaziland, Cameroon, Cote d’Ivoire and Ghana. Since inception in 2001, MTech has been at the front in launching Value Added Service products to support business objectives of telecom operators in all her country of operations.

MTech story

Founded by a group of young and innovative Nigerians, MTech commenced operations in August 2001, with 15 members of staff.

MTech launched its first product, MLife Service, in February 2002, to keep GSM subscribers connected to vital information necessary for their businesses and personal lives. Today, MTech has developed and deployed lots of other innovative services that have transformed the lives and businesses of Nigerian GSM subscribers.

MTech’s mission is to use creative and dynamic technology solutions to provide convenience for people and accessibility to products and services.

Sheri Williams

BSc Computer Science, MBA (Imperial College, London) Sheri has over 25 years experience in the financial and telecommunications industries in Nigeria. Before starting MTech, she had been involved in the formation of several companies in Nigeria, including United Telesys, a premier VSAT company in Nigeria of which she was the founding Managing Director.

Mr. Lateef Belo-Osagie

Director, co-founder

Lateef is currently the managing director of Hackett Nigeria Limited, a telecommunications equipment and parts supplier to leading operators in Africa. He is also the chairman of Western Pacific Communications Limited, a telecommunication firm that specializes in pre-paid calling cards i.e. The Connect Phone Cards. He holds a BSc. Economics degree from the London School of Economics.

Mr. Chris Ubosi

Director, co-founder

Chris Ubosi holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Ife, Ile Ife, and a Master of Science Degree in Project Management from the University of Lagos. He has in the last 29 years been actively involved in the Built Environment, Telecommunications and Broadcasting Industries in Nigeria.

He presently runs Megalectrics Ltd, which operates 4 radio station Brands in Lagos, Ibadan, Port Harcourt, Abuja and London, UK. They are Classic FM, The Beat fm, Lagos Talks and Naija FM. He also sits on the Board of several Companies and Charities in Nigeria.

Chris is a Member of APCON, and the Institute of Directors (IOD) and the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB). He is a Registered Quantity Surveyor and a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors. He is a member of the Ikoyi Club and the Lagos Lawn Tennis Club.

Mr. Kiprono Kittony

Chairman, MTech Communications East Africa

He holds a number of academic and professional degrees, including a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Comm) and Bachelors of Law (LL.B), as well as a Global executive MBA from the United States International University (USIU).

Mr. Kittony has also shown himself to be a man of ‘works’ who has held a number of prestigious positions in the course of his life, such as, being the immediate past chairman of the Media Owners Association and AAR insurance Limited or his seven (7) year tenure as the chairman of the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KNCCI).
